The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Sri Lanka together with the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) organized “Climate Change and Water Dialogues: 2023 and Beyond” on Thursday 9th March 2023 from 8.30 am- 1.00 pm at the BMICH Colombo. Dr. Sewwandhi Chandrasekara, Country Coordinator, Cap-Net Lanka participated in the event.

The hybrid event focused on “2023 and beyond ” in the context of international dialogues taking place in 2023 such as the UN 2023 Water Conference and regional events in the lead-up to COP28 later 2023. The speakers were from the Netherlands, IWMI, Maldives, and Sri Lanka who shared their insights on recent developments and strategies for the future. The invited policymakers, private sector, and researchers actively contributed to the panel discussion at the event regarding governance intervention for climate change in Sri Lanka and lessons from neighboring Islands – Maldives for adaptation to climate change.
