Capacity development of the farmer leaders in medium-irrigation-schemes, empowering them on participatory decision making
Cap-Net Lanka partnered with Sri Lanka Water Partnership (SLWP) in conducting a one day training program on “Institutional and Management Capacity Development of Farmer Leaders in Medium Irrigation Schemes to cope with Climate Change” on the 30th March 2016. The programme was held at the Irrigation Engineer’s office in the North-western Provenience. About 60 farmer leaders and agency staff including 10 women actively participated in the programme. An Irrigation Agronomist/Crop Specialist, Irrigation Water Management Specialist and a Rain Water Harvesting Specialist served as resource persons.
